Though I have been doing surprisingly well on my own losing weight the past year, I realize that I am still very out of shape. Not only that, my blood pressure and cholesterol have been elevated for the last several months.
This is not good. In fact, it’s rather terrifying, to say the least. If this problem should be allowed to continue, it could eventually lead me down a road I do not wish to walk — more health problems, and a greater risk of heart attack.
This is why I have decided to challenge myself to work harder than I ever have before to reclaim my health and to get back into shape.
However, as I look back, I realize that I have been horrendously out of shape for the majority of my life. And I really haven’t looked very good or even felt very good in my own skin since I was eighteen, prior to becoming pregnant with my youngest son. And to add to that, I still have a tendency to turn to sweets and junk food when stressed.
Therefore, I am fully committed to not only losing the remaining 50+ pounds that are still clinging to me with a Darth Vader-like death grip but to be healthier, fitter, happier and sexier than ever by my fortieth birthday. Lucky for me, I have just under a year and a half to make this a reality.
Not so lucky for me, my motivation tends to fizzle and die rather quickly. It is because of that, I am so grateful for the plethora of incentives that keep women like me motivated on track. Incentives such as cell phone apps that reward you with cash and prizes for making healthier food choices, working out, walking your dogs, mediating and so much more.
This is the app that I have found to be the most rewarding:
A FREE service used by over 1.5 MILLION people, Achievement pays it’s users via PayPal or direct deposit to do healthy things! According to their website, Achievement has paid out over $500,000 for simply making healthier food choices, getting fit, taking health surveys and much more! Earn $10 for every 10,000 points you earn. Just for signing up for the app, you’ll receive 50 points. Earn even more by connecting over 30 of your favorite health apps and by referring your friends and family members. Available for both Apple and Android devices.
In addition to using this app as a motivator, I have found that it is imperative to have fun while incorporating daily physical activity and enjoy delicious healthy foods. Click here to discover a fun way to get in shape.
